Went to visit Dilshad’s mother who lives in Nanaimo, on Vancouver Island. Then took her to visit Dishad’s brother, Zul, and his partner, Perlita, who lives in Tofino, also on Vancouver Island. Tofino is towards the the north-western tip of Vancouver Island, and is a nature/tourist area for nature, and the vast Atlantic ocean.
To get there is about a 3hr drive from Nanaimo to Tofino, across the island. The town of Tofino is quaint, and in the right season, you can see lots of whales and dolphins nearby. The water near the shore is quite clear, check out the pictures.
We took a day trip to a natural national park nearby (by boat; the Hootla Kootla). Boat trip was about 30 mins passing some impressive natural scenery. Once a the national park, we hiked through some natural areas to a bubbling hot spring. Nice way to spend a day with nature. BC is indeed blessed with lots of natural beauty.
Zul then took us on a drive to see a falls near Tofino; once again, crystal clear streams, and wonderful natural beauty all around.
Tofino is definitely worth visiting in the summer, to absorb all the wonderful natural beauty.
